Huzzah! Get Wild!

Updated: Apr 28, 2023

The Wild is loose! I'm so excited to share that my debut, The Wall and the Wild, with Katie Rewse is officially out in the United States and in the UK today!

Thank you, Lantana Publishing and Lerner Books, for making it happen.

To celebrate, I want to share a few fun links, videos, activities, and more. If you haven't watched the book trailer yet, please check it out for a glimpse of what's inside.

You can also visit Lantana's Blog to read a Q&A exchange between me and Katie about how we came up with our ideas, what processes we followed, and more. You can even get a peek at some other ideas that Katie had for Ana!

Publisher's Spotlight also has a video clip of me talking a little about how I came up with the idea for Ana's story, and if you check it out, you might learn something interesting about how Ana began and changed over time!

Speaking of ideas and processes, you don't want to miss this draw-along clip in which Katie demonstrates how to illustrate Ana. You can follow along and draw Ana, too! (I can't wait to do this with my kids later. My 10-year-old daughter has been at me to learn Katie's artistic secrets.)

There's also a great Reading Guide, developed for Lantana by Sherish Osman, with a coloring page by Katie. The guide provides some discussion questions as well as fun activities to get kids thinking, exploring, drawing, making, and more!

Not enough? Keep your eyes peeled on Lantana's Instagram for The Wall and the Wild Book Tour! Check out the stops below! These have been so much fun to see, read and respond to.

And remember, you can follow Lantana, Katie and me on Instagram as well as on Twitter to see other updates and fun things. Lantana has two other fabulous books coming out this week that you don't want to miss as well as another next month, and Katie had two others come out earlier this year!

You can also visit Lerner Books, which works with Lantana to distribute State-side, at @LernerBooks / Twitter and lernerbooks / Instagram.

Finally, if you just can't wait to hold a copy and turn the pages, you can catch me reading The Wall and the Wild for story and activity time over at Moon Lane TV. Moon Lane has so many wonderful videos that I'm not going to embed mine here ... you'll have to click and go see.
